Atualmente, o Brasil conta com uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o de 213,4 milh\u00f5es de habitantes, 10% da popula\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o acreditar que a Terra \u00e9 n\u00e3o \u00e9 quase uma esfera, d\u00e1 margem para outros questionamentos contra a ci\u00eancia. No document\u00e1rio: A Terra \u00e9 plana, dispon\u00edvel no Netflix, um dos personagens reais se afirma com rela\u00e7\u00e3o as pessoas que tentam convenc\u00ea-lo sobre a esfericidade do planeta Terra: \u201cjogam matem\u00e1tica em cima da gente\u201d. O que importa, para ele, n\u00e3o \u00e9 o que a ci\u00eancia diz, mas o que n\u00f3s experimentamos, o que vemos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Motivada por perceber que a terra n\u00e3o \u00e9 plana sem precisar de uma viagem espacial me deparei com o Experimento de Erat\u00f3stenes. Minha forma\u00e7\u00e3o matem\u00e1tica berrava por respostas: por que esse experimento \u00e9 suficiente? Qual geometria est\u00e1 por tr\u00e1s dele? Como convencer a humanidade a partir desse experimento, nos dias atuais?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No dia 21 de dezembro de 2020, solst\u00edcio no hemisf\u00e9rio sul, realizamos uma live com astr\u00f4nomos e estudantes de diversas regi\u00f5es do Brasil e tamb\u00e9m de Mo\u00e7ambique e de Timor Leste, todos falantes de l\u00edngua portuguesa para repetir o experimento de Erat\u00f3stenes. Essa live, foi transmitida pelo canal Tributo a Geometria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mas ficou uma inquieta\u00e7\u00e3o: como divulgar essas descobertas para o p\u00fablico em geral? Com a consultoria de alguns astr\u00f4nomos e um historiador em cultura grega da antiguidade montamos um instrumento de divulga\u00e7\u00e3o, belamente ilustrado em aquarela pela artista Stela Kub.. e publicado pela SBM, um e-book chamado: O Mundo Nada chato de Erat\u00f3stenes. Com base no livro, outros instrumentos foram gerados: um v\u00eddeo e uma hist\u00f3ria em quadrinhos. Ficou curiosa ou curioso? Partindo do pressuposto de que a democratiza\u00e7\u00e3o do conhecimento matem\u00e1tico \u00e9 essencial para fortalecer a participa\u00e7\u00e3o social em debates cient\u00edficos, prop\u00f5e-se a sistematiza\u00e7\u00e3o do modelo dos 4D&#8217;s: Dados, Demanda, Distribui\u00e7\u00e3o e Dissemina\u00e7\u00e3o, como ferramenta estrat\u00e9gica para planejar, avaliar e executar a\u00e7\u00f5es de populariza\u00e7\u00e3o da matem\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O percurso da apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o discutir\u00e1, em primeiro lugar, a diferen\u00e7a entre Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o Cient\u00edfica e Divulga\u00e7\u00e3o da Matem\u00e1tica, ressaltando seus p\u00fablicos e formatos. Em seguida, ser\u00e3o revisitados os modelos consagrados da comunica\u00e7\u00e3o p\u00fablica da ci\u00eancia:&nbsp; D\u00e9ficit, Di\u00e1logo, Participa\u00e7\u00e3o e AEIOU, para situar a proposta em um campo te\u00f3rico consolidado.
